Lion Sketches

Here's just a few doodles of the lions too.  I know the story is technically set in the 1950's, but I thought with the door I could also show some fun spins on what futuristic details looked like then.   I haven't drawn lions in awhile, heh.

Lydia Character Sheet

Lydia was the most exciting to draw out of the whole bunch.  I really thought it was fun to draw an elegant woman in formal attire with my own spin of clothes from the near future.  Nothing super drastic, but I wanted to show her elegance with a little bit of blankness.  Lydia is at the point in her life where she feels to be just a shell of a person, with no purpose in life anymore.  No more motherly tasks, as the house does all that.  She is just the spouse of George, bearly considered a mother to the children anymore, as the house takes care of the family.

George Character Sheet

Ah George, what a lovely Englishman.  I wanted to show George in traditional man of the house attire, with a small splash of futuristic here and there.  I am a sucker for monocles, so I couldn't resist.  I would ideally like to show George as a compassionate, yet firm man of the house.

Wendy Character Sheet

With Wendy, I also wanted to show a little sinister within an innocent child on the outside.  Wendy is in traditional English high tea attire, with a little smirk of her own.  Wendy tends to cry and make tantrums throughout the tale, so I think this attitude is fitting.

Peter Character Sheet

With Peter, I wanted to show a 10 year old boy with a severe attitude problem and also being able to show his intelligence in his delightful sneer.   I gathered these characters seem to be of wealthy English decent, so I made sure all of the family members dressed in nice attire, yet somewhat futuristic in a way thats subtle.  I hope I captured his inner sinister mind.

David McClean Char. Sheet

Since David is a secondary character, I had the most trouble figuring out what way I should go with his style.  He didn't have many lines in the short story, and seemed to just be more of an even keel idea man with sensible ideas.   All I could think of were TURTLENECKS!
